Happy New Year

Amidst the deafenning music, blinding light and joy brimming from every heart-I hear a sob!
When the world rejoices- I can hear someone weep!
When every heart embraces love, hope and compliments- I hear regrets and repent shouting out loud!
When the world wishes Happy New Year- I hear the past year bid me adieu with moist eyes!

Unbelievable and Unforgettable short trip!

It had been a year of our marriage and almost four years since am staying in this city till I finally got the time and chance to go for a vacation (all these years vacation for me meant heading to Kolkata, home)! Just a day before my first anniversary we sneaked out of the hustle-bustle of our lives and went for a two-day trip to Mahabaleshwar.
We reached on the eve of our anniversary and I felt we are amidst celebration, already. Every corner of the town exuberated with a pompous show! A grandness of nature was waiting beyond us with the perfect royal welcome treat. We were welcomed on a lush green carpet of grasses, with small conspicuous white, yellow and purple flowers swaying with the breeze, the trees stooped to bow before us, the wind danced among the leaves and flowers, the rippling water of the lake made the most wonderful and soothing music that gave the finesse to the ambience for us.
The moment I stepped down the vehicle I took a deep breath (as rarely, we city-dwellers get the chance to breathe in oxygen!).
The coolness in the climate gave us the perfect chance to feel relaxed, an almost forgotten feeling!
The cottage where we stayed for two days had a beautiful lake with a perfectly placed swing. I sat on the swing and felt like a child being cradled by Mother Nature.
During afternoon, we decided to explore the place! So, we headed to a historically important site, Pratapgarh. We saw the fort of Shivaji, and truly its engineering and architectural intelligence made me awestruck! When I stood at the side of a cliff and looked around I felt the warmth, cuddle and love-filled embracing of nature. I felt a strange shiver run through my blood streams, realizing that I was standing in a place that had been a seat of protection for the town Pratapgarh , and thousands of soldiers had once stayed in it. The dark tunnels and the whooping 450stairs were actually leading me closer to history. I could feel within me the excitement and curiosity about the place. I wanted to explore more and be there for some more time but, we had a time constraint and hence, headed back to our cottage.
After returning, I never imagined that there was some more excitement awaiting me in the form of fresh ripped strawberries and a delicacy ”Strawberry with cream”. The cool climate actually made my ’hot sweet corn on the cob’ hotter and tastier as well.
The following day was our anniversary and also the second day of our trip so, we went to capture some more ‘moments of life’ and perhaps, steal some ‘beautiful moments of nature’ and lock it up deep inside our heart, so that, in times of sadness and stress they would act as our ‘Stress relievers’.
Our second day’s visit was at Panchgani. It was truly a place where I would prefer to spend the rest of my life. The tall trees, encircled by the mountains and fog blurring out the horizon making it look unending, truly helped my excitement level break all boundaries of limit. We went for horse-riding, ate the most delicious ‘chana’, visited an interesting cave and also on our way back shopped all the special delicious items also.
In the evening, things were different! Since, it was our anniversary, so we decided to celebrate it in a special way with some very important friends”Trees, Mountains, Lake and the cool swaying breeze”. I felt the evening was perfectly scripted with the elements of Cake, music, dance and solitude amidst the beautiful nature.
Finally, the beautiful moments came to an end but it truly engraved a special place within our hearts which is impossible to erase throughout our life!
Now, when I try reliving those two days, the soothing and happy smile on my face speaks it all for others to know, how was my trip!!

Relax, I am joking!!

It was the first day in college! Ramya was anxious to make the day a hit. She has always been the center of attraction and common talk among the boys in school; which she really cherished! Now, she has a better platform to attract greater number of bees to glance at her sweet-as-honey face. She took all care in getting ready. Her blue slim-fit jeans complimented her yellow top. She put on a transparent necklace and a broad brown belt to give her outfit the perfect dazzle. As she walked out of her house tip-toeing on her high heeled sandals and a green bag slung around her shoulder with a branded pair of glares to add the correct shade, one could hear the heart beats of all ogling eyes on the street! But, Ramya never bothered since she has now got accustomed to such background scores of thumping hearts playing when she walks on the road!!

Entering college, her efforts paid back, everyone looked at her. No one could stop themselves from looking at her at least once, though the feelings of looking was different across every heart. The girls looked enviously realizing that they stand nowhere in the competition and the boys stared with an expectation in their eyes that someday she would be walking beside them.

As they say, hopes have no boundaries and imaginations fly the highest so even the most inconspicuous boy of the college dreamt about her!

She walked down the aisle of the college with an air of success and a thumping heart of joy that her beauty has been able to conquer a bigger empire- the college.

Ramya entered her classroom and she could read in each of the young man’s eyes an appeal towards her to sit beside them. But, her expert eyes scanned through all and chose a seat beside a young man who was the only person not bothered of looking upto her but found some greater beauty in scribbling something on paper. She got curious and felt a slight anger for the boy because he didn’t give her the importance she expected! The young boy once looked up at her , both exchanged a cordial smile and he again got engrossed in writing. She was not understanding what was more attractive on the paper than her beautiful face. When the class ended, the boy took his belongings and left without even saying a formal goodbye to her. Ramya, could not accept it. She could not accept ignorance of her beauty from a man whom her heart has liked. He was a tall dusky young man with an unkempt look. He looked adorable in his worn-out jeans and T-shirt and a pair of green converse shoes. He walked passed her while drawing his hair away from his forehead and when his fingers made way within his hair strands, he was slowly making way to Ramya’s heart. She was actually struck with his immense power of attraction! This ignorance from the unknown young attractive man continued for Ramya for the next three days. On the fourth day, which was the last day before the first weekend break of college, Ramya made an effort to talk to him. She out of sheer curiosity asked him “excuse me, do you mind letting me know if your are dumb or not” he spoke to her for the first time, “Excuse me, what makes you think so?” Ramya excitedly smiled at him with her eyes sparkling at his heavy deep voice ,”O! my god, you can understand my language, You can see me and You can talk”. The young man kept looking at her blankly, not understanding the reason behind her excitement after discovery of a feature about him which everyone around him knew for the last 21 years! The man exclaimed, “Good, congratulations! You have discovered it”. Ramya felt the sarcasm hitting her hard, so she turned him while he tried to move back and asked him the reason for his ignorance towards her! He looked up at her, smiled and looked down! She felt the smile irritating her to the core, since again the untold silence clouded her all over! She held his T-shirt tightly and asked him again the reason for such a behavior. Ramya, was thunderstruck to hear the reason. The young man said, “Because, I am not your admirer but your would-be husband, “I don’t want to be just a thousand eyes staring at you but I want to be the eye who would keep gazing at you forever”. The words from the man’s mouth fell on her heart like atom bomb fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It ripped her apart and weakened her so much that she could not believe her ears what she heard. She tried to ask him the reason for such a thought! He replied, “I donot look at you as an object of pleasure but as a human being made for me”. The words were launching in Ramya’s heart like launchers on a barren land!

He turned to go, Ramya lifted her hand to stop him. She asked his name. He stopped for a moment to turn and tell her, “Arjun”. Just like Arjun, hit the fish eye and won Draupadi in the swayamvar; this Arjun too won Ramya’s heart amidst the swayamvar! She smiled as her eyes followed him till the end of the corridor.

The next day was a holiday. Ramya, spent the whole of her weekend thinking about Arjun, his deep voice, his attitude, his eyes which was deeper than the ocean, his arms which were strong enough to protect Ramya from any worldly dangers. Ramya, smiled to herself, while she closed her eyes to continue her dream. She felt happy enough to get the man of her life! The man she has always wanted to get as her life partner.

It was Monday morning, Ramya longed to go to college, because she knew she would again get the chance to be with her, Arjun. She went into the class, and as usual made herself comfortable beside Arjun. She looked at him, he glanced at her and again as usual got engrossed in his own writing. She was taken aback by his cold behavior! Anyways, after the class ended she asked Arjun, for going to the canteen, he looked up at her and said “No, why should I?” Ramya, got spell bound for some time. Arjun, again turned and asked her to confirm if she was still thinking about the statement he made earlier last week. When Ramya nodded her head in acceptance! He laughed out hard! He almost started rolling down on the floor laughing. Ramya kept gaping with a dropped jaw as she saw his behavior. He gasped while saying, ”Relax, I was just joking”. Fumes were evidently coming out of Ramya’s ears. She turned red with embarrassment. First time in her life, she has been ridiculed by an opposite sex. She turned and left from college but felt the burning from anger for the rest of the week. She chose to sit with another girl, Jaspreet- from Jalandhar!

But, It seemed as if destiny had something else in store for Ramya. She could never think of spending one single day in college without being before Arjun. First cause was Jaspreet who was head over heels for Arjun (since he incidentally happened to be the coolest and the most attractive man in the class). Arjun, was not only winning for his looks the other qualities in him won him the most popular student in the college. He topped the exams, won dance competitions for the college and also other inter-college competitions were always won by him.

Secretly, for all his qualities and talents, Ramya could not stop her heart from melting for Arjun. She chose to forget the mischief of his and wanted to befriend him. She again went up to him and asked for friendship. He readily accepted it and also cordially apologized for his prank. She smiled and that healed the broken path and their hearts united under the umbrella of friendship. Ramya, secretly kept loving him but he remained aloof and unaware about the loud sound her heart made whenever he was close to her. Her heart craved to feel secure in his arms, her head longed to lean on his strong shoulders. His charming face and childish innocent smile was enough for Ramya to feel refreshed amidst all the pain of not being able to reveal her feelings to him. She slowly became the closest friend for him. But, yes Ramya never wanted this to happen. She never wanted to be the closest friend but the closest person in his life. She wanted to live in his heart and wander within his mind forever! Like, this the three years of graduation passed. Ramya have started knowing Arjun so well, that she never believed what he said. She knew that after every important talk of his, when the listeners gets worried and scared or when they feel sad, exasperated and fumes with anger, his only statement expected is, ”Relax, I am joking!”

Ramya, too never took any of his sayings seriously and whoever took it seriously just approved himself as the biggest fool known to Arjun.

The graduation day was here. Everyone had a divided heart. Firstly, eager with all enthusiasm, hopes and aspirations for their individual’s future and secondly, there was sadness and an emptiness within the leaping young hearts since, they have realized that from now onwards they cannot choose to be away from the unwanted realities of life. They cannot choose to switch on their i-pod and live in their own world they now, have to actually switch it off, for living correctly on the world. The convocation was over. As usual Arjun topped it, but Ramya too had fared well by securing a first division. Ramya, was determined before she puts her first step towards her future she wanted to tell Arjun about her feelings. She approached him, and asked him to meet her in a near-by coffee shop in the evening. But, to her astonishment he refused. He broke the news that he was going to America for his further studies and his flight is in the evening. She as usual did not believe it and was waiting for his old line to uttered, but to her astonishment he revealed the air ticket to approve of his truth. She kept silent. Her heart was screaming within and trying to call out at Arjun and plead him to stay back but he seemed unaware of it. She somehow controlled her eyes from betraying her and flowing out, but the pain in her heart kept increasing. She turned back to wipe her tears and posed to smile for a group photo. He pulled her towards him, she hoped he would have pulled her for the rest of her life. Anyways as they say, fortune is always playing trick and life is a puzzle which always remained unsolved. If you succeed in solving one part of the puzzle the other part becomes unsolved. While, Ramya decided to keep her love locked within her heart forever and walked away from the crowd, Arjun called her. She turned and he said, “By the way, wait for five years, am coming back then we will marry”. She laughed at it. She knew that his jokes are always unbeatable and appears on wrong time of life. Still not letting him realize it she chose to leave.

Apart from being weak for Arjun, Ramya has always been strong in the world. Life is like a sea, it waves of emotions reach the shore and breaks off! The sea keeps rolling and moving forever. Ramya’s life too moved on. She always wished to become a fashion designer. After college, she did the course and within three years time, she found herself in a new city, a new job and to top it all a new love interest! She found a new admirer for her beauty and for herself, in her boss! Ravi, was a very well-behaved established and successful owner of a fashion house and he too could not restrain himself from falling for the beautiful Ramya. She too got attracted towards Ravi, since he was exactly the kind of man any girl would dream of having as a husband! But, there was one feeling which constantly kept Ramya abstain from Ravi- Arjun. She had this certain hope in the lines which Arjun told her while she left. Sometimes, in loneliness she felt a certain ray of hope and longed to wait for him to return as it was only four years since he left and he said of waiting for five years! Again, like thunder the flashes of memory used to break the hope of Ramya, when she remembered how every time the serious or emotional situations have been treated by him as a joke. She was a girl with a modern outlook, she never believed in waiting! She was also sure that Arjun too, is a man with such an outlook. When she found Ravi approaching her parents for her hand, she readily accepted. Her wedding went with great pomp and show. She glittered like a queen and was shinning with happiness. But, a certain kind of emptiness prevailed within her heart. She was the only person aware for the emptiness. But, after marriage, her career, Ravi and life never allowed her to look back. Within a couple of years she became a mother of a beautiful daughter. Her daughter was the mirror image of her! Within five years of marriage, Ramya had settled as a happy woman. She started her new boutique of her own and also helped her husband in his business and at home she was a proud mother of Sarah and Rishi- the impression and a permanent mark of love between her and Ravi. It’s been more than nine years since she last saw Arjun. Now, whenever Ramya thinks about him, she forgets her with a smile. He has taken a permanent place in her heart with his saying, “Relax, Iam joking”. She sometimes stole time from her happening life and smiled to herself remembering her past life and about her silly love which never materialized. She realized it was not the true love. She was only infatuated towards hi. It was the sheer ignorance of his towards her that attracted her more!

Ravi surprised Ramya along with Sarah and Rishi on their sixth anniversary by planning a trip to the US. Initially, the utterance of the name struck Ramya and in the deepest corner she felt a knock on the door of her heart, as she knew Arjun lived there. She expected to meet his family too. For her, family meant wife and children.

As planned they left. She reached and went throughout the country and enjoyed thoroughly. One morning in San Francisco, it was Sarah,s fourth birthday, for which Ravi had planned a cute surprise for their daughter. He drove to the place before and asked Ramya to get the children later. As planned, she took her children and was walking through the aisle of the hotel, when a known voice called her name. She turned back to get surprised herself. It was Arjun. He looked matured, and more attractive than before. His jeans and T-shirt have been markedly replaced by a well-fit tailored suit and his green converse has eloped and in its place shinning boots made him look dignified. She kept looking at him, speechless. He came upto her and greeted her. She suddenly came back to senses and cordially smiled, as she has done when first she met him in the classroom. He looked down to see two innocent faces that resembled the beautiful face of Ramya. He knew it’s her children. He bent down and greeted them. She started bombarding him with questions about his whereabouts for all these years. He kept silent and then replied, “I was her only Ramya, it’s you who went away” Ramya did not understand, she wanted to get the burden of her secret love out of her heart. So she, unhesitatingly revealed to him about her old feelings and blamed him for never understanding it. He was silent. May be, he never hoped to hear such things, since he always took ramya as a close friend. But, to Ramya’s astonishment he told her, “I had asked you to wait for five years Ramya, but you didn’t” Ramya, felt her whole world vanishing and she lonely amidst it. She replied, ”But, I thought you were joking as usual”, to this Arjun said, “No, Ramya I was not!” Tears started rolling down her cheeks she forgot all her present life and felt the pain in her heart. He just kept his hand on her shoulder and said, “Relax, but I was not joking”. Arjun walked away leaving Ramya shocked forever!

The tiny palms & Red roses!

It was a nice bright sunny morning, the streets of Mumbai was rising up for starting another hustling-bustling day. The traffic on the road was increasing with the rising of Sun, the honking of the cars were completely covering up the sweet chirping sound of the birds, the smoke from the car wrapped up the smell of fresh morning breeze, and the shouts of the hawkers on the road actually would make you forget about the word-peace, in any dictionary of the world.
Amidst, this proven confusion of the city, running between the cars on the traffic signal of Andheri, east, was Farhan. Farhan was a well-experienced rose-seller on the road. He knew all the trick of his trade and the sales strategy. He would notice his target customers sitting in the Auto or in a car within seconds. His, approach and salesmanship was highly commendable and can under shine any successful, business, sales and marketing people in the corporate world. But, Farhan was not a man living on this earth for ages. He was not even a decade old! He was just a six years old orphan, trying to live! I came to know about his name, when one day another boy may be a year and a decade old called him, just to warn him of the signal light turning green!

I, along with thousands like me took the same way to office everyday and we found this dark, dirty, bare-footed urchin running from one car to another vehicle with some rose bunches which he could manage to hold in his small palms. It seemed that he tried to hold up his own world with those tiny hands of his, which God made for being held by an adult and shown the beautiful life. His big, bright eyes had a certain innocent spark in it; that was sure to melt anyone's heart! I used to see some people buying the flowers from him- either they actually needed it, or may be because his eyes did the trick. As I said earlier, he was a great Salesman, maybe it was this eyes of his that did the trick for him.

But, sometimes, I found people pushing him hard, uttering foul words or just trying to ward him away from their cars- thinking that his dirt might catch them, or dirty their cars! Seeing, this I ask myself- If people try to clean themselves and keep themselves so clean, then why cannot they clean the society first in which we live? Why can’t they restrain people from societal dirt like: child labour and illiteracy? Before, I could think of any answer or I could think of any solution, the signal starts and I am back into my own world- the daily race for earning my bread and trying to be a part of the virtual race of winning!

His clothes sometimes changes from a red torn T-shirt to sometimes an oversized yellow shirt or sometimes a discoloured torn vest! But, though his change in clothes shows he takes a bath, but he never appears clean. May be because he belongs to the unclean part of our society.

One day, I took out a ten rupees note and gave it to him. He smiled at me and gave me a bunch. From, his smile a sigh of satisfaction could be measured. It was a sign of two kinds of satisfaction; one, his palms can rest of some weight and he got some money to live for the day! I took the bunch and found some wilted roses peeping through the printed transparent paper with which the bunch is tied. The wilted rose, reminded me of the sadness, struggle and hardship that has truly wilted the six-year old creatures life. Life is considered to be the gift of god; Gifts are thought to be preserved as a memento of love and appreciation forever. Then, it always haunts in my mind the reason of such a marked difference in the life given to a six year old child travelling in a car, getting good nutritious food to eat, the best up-bringing and on the other hand, there are creatures like Farhan, running behind the cars, for some money so that they can live in their life.

Farhan, the next day also approached my rickshaw with a smile and a similar hope of getting a ten rupee note for passing another day! Initially, I thought of over-looking him, but, I guess, his hypnotic salesmanship did not allow me to do so! Hence, I took my purse out and gave him the money, in return he again gave me another bunch and a smile of satisfaction that gradually started becoming a peace-maker in my otherwise stressed urban life.

Every day, my expenses increased by ten rupees but in return I not only got someone giving me the favourite flowers everyday but also I got a chance of seeing an innocent, unselfish clean smile of satisfaction on a child’s face (I think this can never be bought with money).

Like this a few weeks passed and then few months went-by. I had developed a certain connection with him, Farhan. The connection was an untold human relationship, the human connection of Humanity! In my office, gossips, fumed from all over! Some, started seeing me with green-eyes thinking that I get roses of appreciation from my newly married husband, but some with their super-imaginative mind started developing a story of me having an extra-marital affair, due to which I always look so calm and satisfied while entering the office with the red roses in my hand, whose red shine dazzled across my pink cheeks.

But, only I knew, that yes, those people were true in some way, I am the happiest in my life, because I am having an affair- but, not with any other person but with Humanity, that has the serene power of transforming all my sadness into joy.

The relationship between me and Farhan grew stronger. He started calling me “Didi”, though I can never imagine any of my brothers staying the way he lived- but my relationship with him was not of blood but it was a human connection that bonded two of us- who were miles apart from each other, in terms of social status.

Every day, when I got down from the local train at the Andheri station my mind forgot about the usual confusion and rush in the station, it immediately used to get caught into the thought of meeting Farhan. I used to eagerly await the smile to bestow happiness and the smell of the roses to cherish another day of my life.

The black Friday…

I was heading towards office as usual; my leaping heart started jumping like a young colt when I neared the signal, where I was due for meeting my Farhan. But, that day, the sweet smile was not seen, I did not smell the roses. There was a some kind of unseen unheard and untold silence, grief that was covering the signal amidst the honking! I missed him. The whole day in office, I kept thinking about him. It was a custom of mine for the last few months to replace the days old rose bunch with a fresh new bunch that would keep me alive for the day (and make me feel of accomplishment-as a good humane deed was behind it). But, today I found amidst all the normal work a vacuum within my heart. A certain kind of untold sadness that was making me restless. I was unable to concentrate in office so decided to go home early. On my way back, I tried to console my heart. I believe our heart is the dumbest part of the whole body and the scariest as well, so, we need to always make it believe that nothing is wrong around us, then the kind of courage gets generated that one can win the world war single-handedly!

Though, I tried to console my heart, but still it cheated me and kept searching for Farhan, at the signal - he was not there. The next day too, the vacuum prevailed as I missed seeing the smiling jovial face amidst the traffic.

Days kept passing. It was a week since I did not meet him. Then, again it was another Friday, when I reached the traffic signal, on my usual way to office. I met a known face. It was the older boy who once called Farhan, while he was in the middle of traffic. I immediately signaled at him and asked him to come close to my rickshaw. While he made his way through the traffic and approached me, my I could feel the thumping heart, every thump was getting louder and stronger as I was nearing to the hope of knowing where my little friend, my brother, my happiness, my Farhan has gone. He came to me and I asked him about him. He looked down, and then he looked up with his eyes filled with water. With trembling lips he said- Farhan is dead! I could not hear it or I heard it, but could not believe it! How, can this happen? How can the little soul become so heavy for the earth to dwell upon? How can God take him away from here? The boy again repeated it! “Yes, Madamji, Farhan is dead”. I stopped my rickshaw, at the side, and rushed out of it, since I wanted to know the incident. He told me, that as usual he was running between the traffic, trying to catch hold of any buyer, when a speeding bus from behind broke the signal and rammed him over. The little heart and his little body was already under such tremendous pressure of life, and on that the bus was too heavy for him to survive. My heart ached thinking about those small palms that once held flowers, those big eyes the sparked through the traffic and the innocent smile that was sure to brighten-up the darkest corner of the world. I wished to be with Farhan. I wanted to bring him back on earth. But, I cannot. I have lost him. The traffic kept moving as usual. The noise kept rising as usual. The loss of the child went-by in the city unnoticed. I could not work for the

whole day. I longed to be with him for sometime more on this earth. I could not come out of the loss for days after that. Every time, I closed my eyes the little soul use to come and stand before me with those red roses in his tiny palms. I wanted to hold those palms and let him enjoy Life. But, Farhan was gone!

After a year…

After almost a year, though Farhan occupied a deep corner of my heart, still my life went on, as priorities were demanding me to go ahead! I got the good news that I was carrying. The moment the doctor broke the news to me, my mind thought of Farhan. After nine months another creature, with tiny palms arrived in my life. He held my finger the way Farhan used to hold the rose bunches in the signal. I felt as if God has sent him back for me. For me to make him see, the beautiful life that he was missing. I could not hold myself back, but call him Farhan! I got him back in my life. Now, we also have a blood relation.

THE THREAT TO THE PEACE AMBASSADORS

In the country's most busiest city lying on the western coast, we the dwellers have almost forgotten about the existence of one very quiet, silent community, that migrated from Iran and had settled centuries ago, and now, can be identified as the true "Mumbaikars" just like other natives of the place.

I am talking about the Parsi community.

They migrated majorly from Iran, after the persecution of Muslims on Iran. They, majorly settled in Mumbai(
Dorabji Nanabhoy, was the first Parsi to settle in Mumbai in 1640) and some also picked up Gujrat as their next motherland for generations to follow. The two basic languages spoken by them are: Persian & Gujrati. The community strongly believed in the method of following a "closed-community system". In this, they married within the community and also settled in specified colonies. This had finally led to their existence over the centuries.

But, now the threat is all over this community! According to recent Indian census there is about 9% decline in the population of the community every decade. This can lead to only twenty-three thousand parsis existing in India by the year 2020.
WHY IS THIS?..
It is majorly because of two reasons:
Genetic cause- most of the parsis have a late marriage that leads to lesser chances of producing their off-springs.
Social cause- In the modern world of globalisation most of the young parsis look beyond their community for choosing their life partner and in this bargain they are loosing out on their community's identity. If this trend goes on, then just like the number 1411(read, number of tigers left in India), Parsis too, will be identified by numbers.
The only thing that creates a concern within my heart and an untold pain for this community is that, it is always believed God blesses those who are harmless to mankind. Then, I must say, this is the most harmless community in the whole of human mankind, right from the inception of human society on this earth. Still then, they were thrown out of their country in Iran, they never retaliated, they silently accepted and migrated to another place. In their new place of living, they had been more honest than any other Indians, living. They do not posses any record for inception of communal disharmony or spreading violence.Still they are exposed to threats of existence from all-over.

Mostly, the Parsis have there own business, of export-import, or hotels and bakeries. They celebrate two festivals of their community with lots of grandeaur. The Parsi new year and the Navroze. Both these festivals, leads to luxurious feasts attended by freinds and family. There place of worship, is the "Temple of Fire" where they worship Fire god. If the religion, the common practices and beliefs of the community is studied then, one can trully experience the
"Art of living in Peace". But, I must say, the world had trully prooved that though we may be having innumerable Peace rally going on across the world but, its true existence is not acceptable here.

The other day I was reading in the newspapaer about their
"Tower of Silence" where, after the death the dead bodies are supposed to be kept for the scavengers to feed on them. It might sound to be a very cruel practise, but, if you think about the reasons then we can understand that even after death the Parsis never forget to serve the society. They give their body to nature for maitaining its ecological cycle.

But, their is a a grave danger again mounting on this peacefull community! The number of scavengers in the city have decreased remarkably in the city, hence, in their tower, they cannot expect their dead bodies getting used by the scavengers. Their body suffers even then. They lie half-eaten and rotten! Their soul keeps suffering after death aswell. For them, the last word uttered" May the soul live in peace" can never seem to be true. So, this small write-up of mine is just amalgamation of few words to indicate the urgency of saving the community that is perishing! The whole world needs to work towards it and show the Parsis, that it is not only them who are the true Peace ambassadors on earth, We too, are!
